The engineering division is
staffed by professional engineers licensed in Washington. Engineering
services include water systems, sewage treatment and disposal,
industrial wastewater treatment, environmental engineering, street and
drainage design, structural building design, construction management and
geotechnical evaluations.

PLSA has a complete in-house
surveying division staffed by licensed professional land surveyors and
experienced field surveyors. Surveying and mapping services include land
development, subdivision, right of way surveying, topographic surveying
and mapping, construction staking and ALTA surveys.
PLSA uses a Nikon (Top Gun)
DTM-5 electronic total station with Tripod Data Systems electronic data
recorder, CAD computer stations, running AutoCAD with full size pen and
ink jet drawing plotters.

PLSA has the equipment and
trained personnel to perform many standard ASTM tests on soil, rock,
aggregate, asphalt, and concrete. The firm maintains a fixed base and
mobile materials testing lab. PLSA also performs structural steel,
welding, and high-strength bolt inspections. All special inspections
comply with UBC requirements.
Specialized equipment
includes three Troxler Model 3430 Nuclear Moisture-Density Gauges, a
Troxler Model 2226 Nuclear Asphalt content Gauge, Skidmore-Wilhelm
direct tension indicator, and a complete soils
laboratory.
